There are echoes lost in the garden, is anybody listening?

Some more photos from the shoot I had with Sunniva (Sòl) last summer, in context with her band, Vǫluspá,  releasing their first album. We wanted to experiment with different backgrounds and lighting to see how we could create a different mood with the same outfit. I quite like the forest background, it works well with the viking-theme we usually go for, although it was a nightmare to shoot here with thousands of mosquitoes trying to eat us alive. We suffered through it though (Sunniva the most, being the one with the least amount of clothes) in the hope that some of the photos would turn out great, which I think they did!

Also, if anyone finds my editing to be horrible, bear with me, I’ve never had any Photoshop courses, so all my photos are victims of try and fail, or try and succeed! The more I edit though, the more I learn, and the more I love the endless possibilities that Photoshop give us.

Finally! Here’s some of the photos I took of Sunniva last summer, in context with her band, Vǫluspá,  releasing their first album. Check out their songs here or on Facebook here . I love how the colours in the background compliment the feathers she’s wearing, and I’m quite happy with the way these pictures turned out. I have a few more photos I’d like to share with you guys, so stay tuned 🙂

Oh, also:

I’ve been wanting to change my blog theme for a while, and finally got around to do so, giving it a more professional look and making my photos HUGE so that they stand out more. What do you guys think?

Dive into an endless ocean

I have been digging through my hard drive lately, looking at the endless stream of pictures I’ve taken the last couple of years. Thought I’d try to post some of them here on my blog, think it’s interesting to look at how much my photographs have changed in the years. These pictures are filled with noise and low resolution and I never saved anything as a RAW at that time, but I still like the idea.

Pictures taken four years ago (can’t believe it’s been so long!).
Sunniva is the model. I just love the red leaves in the background, lighting up almost like a fire!

I’m sick right now, which means that the beautiful weather in Edinburgh unfortunately is not getting documented with my camera. Going on a weekend trip to Dublin on Friday, so hopefully both weather and health will be at its best then, and I can return with a bunch of great photos!

Winter is coming

Some pictures of Sunniva taken the day before new years eve in ’10.
A day when the temperatures were freezing, but the light was just perfect.

It is finally December and frost on the ground in the morning. I love it!

Sunniva – In the cold, cold night

Sunniva again! The last photos from our summer shoot. I find these to be the best pictures we haven taken together so far, just love the light and how she looks so much like a “dead” doll! Once again, I must confess, the inspiration came from Lill and her amazing pictures!

Life is good! I finally start my classes on monday. Hopefully this will mean a bit more free time to take some pictures!

Tomorrow is my last day in Norway before leaving for my new life in Edinburgh! Can’t wait!

A new shoot with Sunniva. Part one

The first pictures from me and Sunniva‘s new shoot taken a little while back. Just got back from a weekend in Oslo, visiting some of my friends before leaving for Scotland! Only a week and a half left now, can’t wait to finally be on my way!
