Proud to share the last bunch of photos from my shoot with Kate! I’m really happy with how they turned out and can’t wait to do another shoot with her. So easy when the person you’re photographing knows how to pose to create cool photos.

This is probably going to be one of the most personal posts on this blog. I need to put “pen to paper” and get this off my chest. Had a rather sad experience a couple of days ago when I was cleaning my room which made me realize that I have to make an extra effort not to lose myself and my interest completely in this country:
I had to dust of my camera.
In the 10 years that I’ve been taking photos and bringing my camera everywhere with me, this has NEVER happened. Must say I got a bit upset…and this really made me think. Studies take up so much of my time, and I’ve been really bad at taking proper breaks (not just full zombie mode in front of the computer) and actually go outside with my camera and enjoy what nature got to offer. It’s been hard to feel like I’m not able to be myself to the fullest, with my sewing machine at home in Norway, and my camera collecting dust, there isn’t much of a creative side of me anymore. The creative, animal-loving side of me is part of making me feel whole, and the side that’s on display here in Edinburgh almost feels like a stranger to me.
Being surrounded with people that only know one side of you, where it’s already hard to be myself because of the language, and on top of that not being able to express myself in any other way makes me feel like there’s few people that actually now me for who I am, and not just scraping the surface.
I need a proper plan now that revision weeks are coming up and exams are getting closer, to make sure that spring with all its beautiful changes won’t just pass me outside my bedroom window. I need to make small goals that I’ll try to achieve from day to day, week to week.
I’ve decided to make at least one “adventurous trip” each week where I bring my camera, making sure to clear my schedule for this and enjoy my time instead of feeling guilty whenever I’m doing anything but work. This would be a great chance to bring someone and get to know each other’s, so I’m hoping to bring some friends along for this. I’ve also booked tickets home to Norway in May so that I can be with my family and friends and charge my batteries before going back to Edinburgh for my summer course. Hopefully, these things will help to make me feel more like me again.
Just to make it clear: I do love what I’m studying, and I don’t want to quit. This is just my frustration over the personal aspect of living in another country.
I would love for this blog to be a place where I frequently post new photos of all the exiting things I do in my life, and the fact that my followers keep increasing every day is such a motivation! Thank you to everyone following me, it really does mean the world to me.

I’m alive! I survived the exams and finally got to go home for Christmas!
The last couple of days have been so hectic, trying to fit more hours into the day than there is, just to be able to spend time with all the people I want to see! I’ve been upside down in gift wrapping and planning for stuff to do before I go back to Edinburgh in January, and the days just fly by.
After spending almost the entire day shopping for gifts today with lovely Elisabeth, there was finally time for a little creative project!
I’ve wanted to make some tree ornaments that would be both easy and decorative and finally decided to make something with silk ribbons and beads attached to styrofoam. Think my first try turned out pretty good! (And yes, I know I look really dragged and bum-ish on the picture, but hey, a day of shopping in a snow storm will do that to you!)
Love to be home and finally get that Christmas spirit I’ve been waiting for, with a home filled with Santa’s and angels and homemade cookies and tons of snow! I really needed this now. I’ll spend my holiday at home charging my batteries for a new year and a new me. It is time for some changes, which will be a good thing (I hope). I’ve planned at least one shoot this Christmas, with Sunniva, which means more posts and less old pictures to fill up the space, so stay tuned!

The last bunch of photos taken this summer, thought it was about time to share them.
There is so much to do these days! School is hard, but I really, really enjoy it here. It is so nice to be able to make my own food whenever I want, and to sleep in a big, soft bed. I got the best flat mates I could ever wish for as well, so life is great!
I’m leaving with my sunshine this friday, for our three day-adventure with haggis adventure, the trip I wrote about here. Can’t wait! A whole weekend away from school work, with my sunshine and with so many opportunities to take some amazing photos! I really hope we get some sunny days, even though the weather forecast says it’s going to rain… But fingers crossed!

The first pictures from me and Sunniva‘s new shoot taken a little while back. Just got back from a weekend in Oslo, visiting some of my friends before leaving for Scotland! Only a week and a half left now, can’t wait to finally be on my way!

Went to a marked earlier this summer in my home made dress, trying to sell some of the things I’ve made. My sunshine went with me, being super patient and cute. Bought the prettiest little blue purse. Used more than I earned this day, but heck, pretty blue purse! You can find the bows here.
I’m back home from my trip to Bergen, but not for long! Leaving for Oslo on friday, visiting more friends. So many to visit and so little time to do so before leaving! 17 days to go!

Had some problems with the shipping on my new shop, but it should be fixed now. I now ship world wide!

My personal cheering team: a little kitty from the Animal Protection Bergen (gift from my sunshine), John Lennon in Sgt. Peppers outfit (also from my sunshine), Gary from Spongebob, cutest “cat” ever, a fabric mouse I made during my year at Folkehøgskole, and of course my green love, Shrek.
I’ve had several sewing projects going on this summer, mostly clothing for both children and women, but lately there’s been one thing stuck in my head “making bows”! After making around fifty bows the last couple of days and no place to store them all, I’ve decided to open a shop on Etsy and try to sell some of them. It’s not ready yet, but I will update both on my blog and facebook when it is!
And hey! Why don’t you follow my blog? The follow on bloglovin-button is right under “categories”, hint hint!
