Sorry for little to no activity here the last two weeks, I am currently without a functioning computer, so I have to go to the library to access my blog/mail/uni notes. Really annoying, but I’ll see if I can get my computer fixed over the weekend. Went for a nice photo trip with one of my flat mates the other day, but can’t upload the pictures before my pc is working again, so I’ll post an old post that I had in my draft folder for now. Hopefully people will still enjoy the photos!

I’ve been to many zoo’s in my life, but I have to say that Dyreparken i Kristiansand is something special. I love how the wild life section is HUGE, and if you want to see any animals you’d have to either be really really lucky, or be there when they are being fed. The animals are not forced into small concrete cages where they’re displayed as objects for tourists to enjoy (like a lot of animals in Edinburgh Zoo), but the whole zoo is based on what’s best for the animals. The zoo in Kristiansand, Norway is also in the world class when it comes to breeding, which tells a lot of how comfortable, happy and healthy the animals are!

If you’re ever in the southern area of Norway: take a day trip to the Zoo in Kristiansand! You’ll need at least a day, since the area of the zoo is massive! This is no ad, btw, I just really love this zoo!

‘Cause I told you once before goodbye, but I came back again

Ah, it’s been sooo long since I posted anything here, hello world! I was in desperate need of a proper break from my blog, although my camera and I have been busy the whole summer, which means that I have a lot to show you guys!

It’s safe to say that I am so so so ready to go back to Edinburgh after a long and relaxing summer in Norway. I can’t wait for this year to start, new flat, new courses, new people…and new me!

WINTER IS COMING

Less than a week left before my first exam, getting pretty nervous now! Every day is devoted to revising as much as possible and my head feels like a balloon on the verge of bursting. Ever had that feeling of reading but not really…absorbing what you read? That’s my everyday life right there…

Can’t wait to get home to Norway! I’ve been told there’s plenty of snow compared to Edinburgh’s weather that reminds me more of early spring than anything else.  Can’t wait to see my friends and family don’t think I’ve ever missed people as much as I have this semester. 11 days to go!

That trip that gets stuck in your mind

In ’09 my family and I went to South Africa on safari for ten days.
It was the best trip ever, and I still find myself thinking of going back almost every day.

School is challenging, but really interesting at the same time, even though I must say most of the lectures we have leaves me sitting there like a big question mark. Hopefully this will get easier after a while when I’m more used to everything happening in English.

It’s finally weekend, which means time to relax and spend some time with my sunshine. Hoping to fit a trip to Leith in to my schedule today. I have a promise to keep and a postcard to send.

Promise to post some more pictures from Edinburgh and hopefully Leith in the near future, due to crappy weather there hasn’t been much opportunities to go on adventures with my camera this week.

Happy birthday to my good friend Camilla today! Miss you, you little ginger. You would fit in perfect here! Haha

Pollock Halls, Edinburgh University

This is where I live! Baird House at Pollock Halls!

Everything is great! Freshers week is (finally) over. I feel too old for this. Partying seven days a week with next to no sleep what so ever, meeting a bunch of new people every day, new names, new places, new rules. I must say, I was a bit exhausted when the week was coming to an end.

Started my lectures on monday, and everything seems so… exciting! Can’t wait do dig down in my 1300-thick biology book! So far this is everything I hoped for, and even more. Hoping to get some time to talk to everyone back home this week, so people, log on to skype!

Oh, yeah, btw: I won a bunch of great stuff at the freshers auction, which I will tell you all about in another post.
Can say as much as this: a free trip costing over £230!

My first post from Edinburgh!

The first picture from Edinburgh. From the hotel we stayed in the first night.

The reception at Pollock Halls, where I live. And Arthurs Seat (the mountain) in the back!

One of the buildings at our campus.

Found these awesome duck-socks at Primark, and convinced my sunshine to buy them. They are so cute!

From Pollock Halls were I live, and to my sunshine, there is a 20 min walk through this beautiful park. Just love having him so close, it makes everything so much easier.

Everything is so great here! I love it! There hasn’t been that much time to sit on the computer, and even less time to go out and take pictures, but after this week things will calm down a bit! I can promise a bunch of amazing pictures in the near future. Almost all the buildings in Edinburgh looks like they could have been in one of the Harry Potter movies. I love that.

I will be posting some more pictures from my photoshoots earlier this summer just so the wait between posts won’t be too long.

Edinburgh, here I come

“Congratulations.
This email confirms your place at The University of Edinburgh for the Biological Sciences (Zoology).
Your course starts in September 2012.”

I have no words… Just so relieved. Finally!!!
