Tiniest little hermit crab I’ve ever seen. It was the size of half a pea!
A Mudskipper sitting on a piece of coral. Look how cute he is!
Week 2 – The Civet team 🙂
A civet (sedated) being measured, weighed and photographed for research purposes. They were so pretty! The fur is really soft, and it kinda looks like a mix between a ferret and a cat if you ask me. More about Civets here.
Their neck pattern is unique for each individual, making it easy to use this for identification of the captured and already examined animals.
I know I said there would be two post for each site, forest and marine, but I still have a few photos left from the jungle that I would like to share with you guys, so there will be a third post from the jungle site soon 🙂

Just some photos from my weekend in Norway, when I went to Aas Univeristy to surprise my best friend, Elisabeth on her birthday! Norway was a bit colder than Scotland, and here spring was just starting with beautiful crocuses and green patches everywhere. Perfect for a walk with the camera.
Only got one month left of 2nd semester of uni before I’m done with exams, which means little time to do anything but uni work. I still got some photos from the photoshoot with Kate and Sunniva left that I’ll post, just so it won’t be complete silence here for a month!

Model: Katherine Lord
Photo & edit: Marie Danielsen
Proud to share some really cool pictures of my friend Katherine that I took a while ago. Refreshing with a new face, and she is such an easy model to work with! This girl know how to pose, and her outfits were all really amazing! These are just from the first outfit, so I’ll share some more photos later (just need to edit them all first, which takes AGES!).

My flatmate, Ellie, asked if I wanted to join her, her friend and our other flatmate, Chelsey, for a hike in the Pentlands Saturday morning, which I said yes to, thinking it would most likely not happen (knowing my ability to get up early in the morning and the fact that Edinburgh weather rarely let a day pass without rain). But what do you know, we got up at 8 in the morning and left the house by 9! I am so happy we went, it was such a nice way to start the day. The weather was perfect (although a bit windy at the top), and I even brought my camera and got some nice pictures. Incredible what a little fresh air can do to you, it was such a nice break from stressful uni work.
Thank god we’re heading towards warmer, brighter days now. I loved this little trip, hopefully there will be more of them before exams are here!
This is also my blog post no. 100! I guess I would have hit 100 a long time ago if I managed to post something a bit more frequently, but hey, still feel proud that I’ve kept this blog alive for this long.

Tested out my 35 mm with some long exposure pictures of Edinburgh by night, with mixed results. Most of them got rather blurry (should have brought my tripod!), but some of them turned out quite nice!

Just some very improvised pictures I took the other day while tidying my room (everything is more fun than that, am I right?). The light in my room is perfect for some nice natural light-portraits, so in the lack of a better model, I went ahead and took a few “selfies” using my 35 mm lens and the timer.
Hurray for longer days, hurray for more and more sunlight, hurray for spring!

Went for a walk with my camera in the nice Edinburgh weather yesterday. Got pretty surprised when I saw that spring was already in full motion, in February! Not sure what to think about that, but at least there was a lot of nice things to take pictures of.
Was stretching my long, awkward body over a fence to get a decent picture of some pretty snow bells in someones garden, when the owner, a sweet old lady opened her door and was like “Sweetheart, just come into the garden and take all the photos you want!”. She was so adorable! After getting a couple of good photos she even invited me to “just sit in her garden whenever I want, if I need somewhere to relax and want to enjoy some pretty flowers”. Almost picked her up (she was pretty short, but then again, compared to me, everyone is) and hugged her flat as a pancake! Made. My. Day. Thinking of printing one of the pictures and framing it to her as a gift.
Just turned 23 (5th of feb).
Another year older, definitely not a year wiser.

Some more photos from The Botanic Garden in Edinburgh. They have these storytellers telling different stories in context with the different areas. Would recommend this to everyone! Loved the colours on her outfit, so asked kindly to take a photo of her, which she said yes to (: Pretty!
