It’s been forever since I posted anything here, and for that I’m sorry. There’s been too much to do, and too little time for me to finish it all!  Some thing had to be more of a priority than others, which leaves the blog to be one of the less important tasks since it’s such a time consuming thing to wrap together a decent post. But here it finally is with a promise to not let it be so long til next post!

Our third day in Dublin was devoted to  The St. James Distillery. It was really cool to see how the whisky (Scottish way!) was stored in huge barrels over several years, some as much as 18 years! Got some nice tastings as well and bought ourselves a nice, warm Irish coffee with proper Jameson Irish Whisky! Tasted so good, nom nom! I would definitely recommend people visiting Dublin to set a side a couple of hours at the St. James Distillery, there is a lot of stuff to see, and a lot of nice things to taste!

Oh my, I’ve already been back for over three weeks, and today was my first day out with my camera since I got back! Not good. The concept of time is a bit hard to grasp right now, it feels like I’ve only been back for a couple of days, but at the same time it feels like I never left.

My new courses at Uni are so interesting, I’ve met a lot of amazing people, started a new and healthier life style which include exercise a couple of times a week, and  made a proper budget to stick to for this semester. Also passed my exams for the first semester, which was a huge relieve!

The weather today was so lovely that you’d have to be a fool not to take a walk outside. So i layered up and went out with my camera, exploring all the beautiful places that Edinburgh has to offer. Today’s trip went up Regent Road, and it only took a couple of hundred meters before I found a beautiful old cemetery called Old Calton Cemetery.

It might seem a bit odd for some people that you would choose to go for a lovely afternoon walk in a cemetery, but there are just so many amazing photo opportunities there! The old graves with green moss on top of them,  the details and the colors are just perfect for some nice pictures. I find the peace and quiet so relaxing, and usually imagine how peoples lives where when reading the old graves, what they did for a living, how old they were and if they had kids, wives, husbands. A cemetery reminds me more of the life that was than the actual death.

Also went up Calton Hill. Will post pictures from that later this week. Quite a busy week coming up, so it might be good to “store” some pictures! I’ll promise to keep the posts to a more frequent level than what it’s been the last three weeks!

Haggis Adventures 3-day Skye High Trip – Day 3 (part 2)

The last part from the 3-day trip around Scotland!

Autumn is here in all its amazing colors, I love it! Nothing can beat that special smell of autumn air when walking in the woods taking pictures of the leaves in their fall-colors. This trip was so amazing, I’m really glad I got the opportunity for me and my sunshine to experience this trip almost completely for free!

Haggis Adventures 3-day Skye High Trip – Day 3 (part I)

Oh, wow, I really took way to many photos on this trip! Have to make a part I and II from the last day, so it doesn’t seem like so much. It’s not that easy to limit yourself when there is so much beautiful stuff to photograph!

The last day of the trip was finally here, and we still had the best weather we could possible wish for! Went looking for Nessie in Loch Ness without any luck, bought a lot of sweets and went to the place where the battle of Culloden found place in 1746. If you want, you can read more about this battle here. It made a strong impression on us.

The rest of the day will be posted in another post later this week!

Haggis Adventures 3-day Skye High Trip – Day 2

“NORWAAAAAAY!”

Day two! The liquid sunshine disappeared and left us with some real sun and nice temperatures. We left the hostel and Loch Ness early in the morning, heading for the Isle of Skye! We were told that Skye most likely would be a rather cold and misty experience, but to our big surprise (and the guide who couldn’t stop saying “oh my god, a very, very nice day indeed”) instead of fog and cold we were met with sunshine and warmth! Hurray!

We stopped in a tiny town for lunch, and me and my sunshine went on our own walk discovering this old tower of some sort with the most amazing view. A perfect place to act like the Vikings we are and scream “Norwaaay”!
