Went on a lovely walk with one of my flatmates, Ellie, a little while back. There’s finally signs of autumn, which hopefully means more photo walks! Got my computer back now, woooo, so I’ll post more photos here from now on, promise!

Just some pictures from this sunday when I went for a walk. Still no sign of any winter!

It keeps getting colder and colder here now, but still no snow. Have to admit that I kind of miss the frosty November in Norway more than I thought I would. Edinburgh is still in autumn-mode and serves us rain with a hint of more rain every other day or so.
I miss my family and my friends now, miss having people around me that knows me and that can give me a big hug when needed. Can’t wait to get home for Christmas and see everyone again! But, don’t get me wrong, I love it here as well! The exams are just a month away, which gives me a mini heart attack every time I think about it, but I have realistic goals for the first semester: pass the exams.
I’m hoping for some sun and fresh autumn air tomorrow, so that I can go on a long walk with my camera. Really feel like the creative-nature loving side of me is being totally overrun by the try-to-understand-everything-at-school-me. Time to find a balance that works better, I think.

There’s been so much to do lately school wise, with a bunch of lab reports and a essay, plus a mid-term exam in chemistry coming up, that I don’t feel like there is time enough to do it all! Haven’t been out for a walk with my camera in ages, which makes me a bit sad now that all the beautiful autumn colors are here, and almost gone as well. Hopefully things will calm down a bit after this week, giving me time to do the things that I find important in my life.

The last part from the 3-day trip around Scotland!
Autumn is here in all its amazing colors, I love it! Nothing can beat that special smell of autumn air when walking in the woods taking pictures of the leaves in their fall-colors. This trip was so amazing, I’m really glad I got the opportunity for me and my sunshine to experience this trip almost completely for free!

Oh, wow, I really took way to many photos on this trip! Have to make a part I and II from the last day, so it doesn’t seem like so much. It’s not that easy to limit yourself when there is so much beautiful stuff to photograph!
The last day of the trip was finally here, and we still had the best weather we could possible wish for! Went looking for Nessie in Loch Ness without any luck, bought a lot of sweets and went to the place where the battle of Culloden found place in 1746. If you want, you can read more about this battle here. It made a strong impression on us.
The rest of the day will be posted in another post later this week!

“NORWAAAAAAY!”
Day two! The liquid sunshine disappeared and left us with some real sun and nice temperatures. We left the hostel and Loch Ness early in the morning, heading for the Isle of Skye! We were told that Skye most likely would be a rather cold and misty experience, but to our big surprise (and the guide who couldn’t stop saying “oh my god, a very, very nice day indeed”) instead of fog and cold we were met with sunshine and warmth! Hurray!
We stopped in a tiny town for lunch, and me and my sunshine went on our own walk discovering this old tower of some sort with the most amazing view. A perfect place to act like the Vikings we are and scream “Norwaaay”!

Finally, the weekend was here! This trip was amazing in so many ways. Can’t believe I won this!
We depatured from Edinburgh at 08.30 in the morning with the Haggis-bus with 27 other people and our own guide for the trip named “Paddy”. He called the rainy weather for liquid sunshine and wanted us to scream “AYE” as pirates when he called our name. Funny guy.
The first day was a lot of driving, but also a lot of stops at different places to take some photos. I must say, what a pretty country this is. The nature was just amazing, even with all the rain and fog!
We stopped at the Commando Memorial Area of remembrance, which made a really strong impression. Young men in their twenties, same age as myself, who died fighting in Afghanistan,. Some of the memorials were dated the 80’s, while some others were as new as 2012…
After driving the whole day with plenty of amazing stops, we finally arrived at Inverness and Loch Ness where we stayed at a hostel for the first night.
Part two coming up!

Went to the zoo with one of my friends this week, hoping to get some great pictures of all the animals. Unfortunately, most of the animals were either sleeping or… not there. A lot of empty cages made the day into something that could remind us of a game of “hide and seek”. The animals were hiding, and we couldn’t find them. Also, most of the animals had very limited space, which made me kind of sad. I’m used to the amazing zoo in Kristiansand, where the all the animals have huuuuge areas.
Anyways! It was a nice day, and we did get to se the giant panda (you have to book an appointment to meet the panda!), and we had a good time in the quest of finding the animals.
Don’t think I will go back, though. I prefer them in their wild habitat, not in a 5×5 m cage.

It seems like no matter where you go, there is some enormous castle hiding behind the next turn. It is so pretty here, I still walk around like a tourist with my camera, taking pictures of every single building. We had some nice days now with sun and that great autumn air, which is perfect for taking lang walks and exploring the city even more.
I moved this week to a self catered accommodation and got four amazing flat mates! So happy right now, this was what I wanted the whole time. I can finally make my own food and eat whenever I want!
